How Much Do Different Types of Dartboards Cost?

Dartboards come in lots of different styles. If you do a quick search for the term ‘dartboard’, you’ll come across steel-tip dartboards, soft-tip dartboards, electric dartboards, child-friendly dartboards, and more.

Let’s take a look at these types of dartboards in more detail and find out how much each of them costs.

Traditional Dartboards

A traditional dartboard is made from sisal fiber. They’re designed to be used with steel-tip darts. These boards typically cost between $30.00 and $120.00.

The price of these boards varies, depending on the brand name and the quality of the sisal fibers used.

A good quality board can usually be picked up for between $60.00 and $80.00. Unicorn and Winmau steel-tip dartboards fall into this price range and you won’t hear any complaints from us about them.

We’ve reviewed both a budget-friendly and a higher-end traditional dartboard. See what we made of them below.

Viper League Pro Regulation Bristle Steel Tip Dartboard

The Viper League Pro Regulation Dartboard comes with lots of extras, including a hanging bracket, scoreboard, measuring tape, and a set of darts. When we reviewed this board, it cost just over $32.00, and we think it’s a great deal.

Other benefits of this board include being able to easily rotate it and the bullseye being staple-free.

Pros:

  • You get a lot for your money
  • Affordable
  • Staple-free bullseye

Cons:

  • Some buyers say that the board doesn’t ‘self-heal’ and that holes are visible

WINMAU Diamond Plus Tournament Bristle Dartboard

If you prefer to stick with a big-name dartboard, you can’t go wrong with the Winmau Diamond Plus Tournament Bristle Dartboard. The board was selling for just over $70.00 when we reviewed it.

The sisal fibers on this board are described as being ‘self-healing’ which helps to increase its lifespan. Angled-shaped dividers also help to reduce the number of bounce-outs you have when playing.

Pros:

  • Self-healing sisal fibers
  • Easy to mount
  • Low bounce-out rate

Cons:

  • Nothing! Great budget dartboard

Dartboard and Cabinet Set

A dartboard with a built-in cabinet is a big selling feature as it protects your walls from damage and allows you to tidy your game neatly away.

We’ve seen dartboards and cabinets for sale for less than $30.00. On the other end of the scale, you could pay up to $330.00 for one.

Here are our reviews on a low-cost and high-end dartboard and cabinet set.

EastPoint Sports Bristle Dartboard and Cabinet Set

One of the cheapest dartboard and cabinet sets available is the EastPoint Sports Bristle set. At the time of reviewing it, it was less than $50.00. Included in this set are 6 deluxe steel-tip darts, 2 chalk scoreboards, dart holders, chalk, an eraser, and an easy-hang wall template.

The darts included with this set aren’t the best quality, so we recommend buying some additional ones. We like how easy it is to rotate the dartboard and that the bullseye is staple-free. The cabinet is also pleasant to look at and has folding doors so all your kit can be neatly put away.

Pros:

  • Everything you need in one box to get started
  • Looks good
  • Self-healing sisal fibers

  • Authentic cabinet and board
  • Stylish

Cons:

  • No doors on the cabinet

The price of an electronic dartboard differs greatly. They can be as low as $20.00 or as high as $300.00. You can expect to pay between $100.00 and $200.00 for a well-made one.

The Franklin Sports Electronic Dartboard Set is one of the cheapest electronic dartboards we’ve come across. It was selling for just $20.58 when we reviewed it. The board comes with 6 soft-tip darts and 6 replacement tips which we thought was good for the price.

Some of the best parts of this board are the voice, sound effects, and built-in game variations (75 in total). There’s also the option of hanging the board on a wall or playing it free-standing. One thing to note is that this board is powered by batteries, so make sure you stock up on them.

  • In-built dart storage
  • Comes with a 1-year warranty
  • Durable design

Cons:

  • Some players report scoring problems
