Are Dart Boards That Cost $50 Worth It?
There are many dartboards on the market, some costing upwards of $50. But is it worth it?
Dartboards can range in price from about $10 to over $100. Is there a difference between the two prices or is the more expensive one just for show?
Cheaper Dartboards Usually Come with Several Drawbacks
The wiring isn’t always very thin. Frequently, these dartboards include round wiring, which can be significantly thicker than the better wiring found on more costly dartboards. Round wiring isn’t necessarily going to ruin a game of darts and result in a slightly higher likelihood of bounce-outs.
A less expensive dartboard will seldom have staple-free wiring. Most often than not, the wiring will be stapled in some manner. This is another element of the dartboard that may increase the prevalence of bounce-outs, particularly since the principles are often put in high-value areas such as the doubles, trebles, and the bull.
Digital Dartboards
I can’t, in good faith, compare them to the higher-quality and most often bought soft tip dartboards as the more expensive variety offer many more features and a more professional experience.
With that said, it doesn’t mean that a cheaper dartboard isn’t worth it. The cheaper boards are a great place to start out and see if you like the sport.
Final Words
Like the dartboards we’ve focussed on in this article, cheaper dartboards are an inexpensive way to have some fun with your friends even if you don’t aspire to be a professional darts player. Sticking founder $50 still gives you plenty of options when it comes to buying a cheap dartboard.
